Talk:Sue Blackwell
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
While I'm no fan of Sue Blackwell's, calling her a "Nazi" is not helpful to the Israeli cause, and including links to "anti-semitism" as a category at the end is not encyclopedic. Neither is writing down your own personal opinions and writing the names of Israeli newspapers at the end of them without actually linking to anything that can be verified. I despise the woman and all she stands for, but this is an encyclopedia, and this kind of nonsense doesn't belong here. Ya'Aseh Shalom 21:01, 3 November 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Racism
Famousdog, a couple of points. First, if you go ahead and click on the link you provided about reliable sources, you'll see that blogs are reliable sources when they pertain to matters that involve the subject. Unless we want to say that Sue Blackwell is lying about others calling her racist, I have no problem including it. It isn't a huge deal, and I'm willing to let it go. However, if you really want it out, would you be good enough to remove her denial as well? As you have edited the article, that section now doesn't make any sense. IronDuke 23:45, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Section removed
IronDuke, I know you're going to think I'm getting at you, but I removed this section:
The boycott was overturned within a few weeks of being passed, as lecturers claimed that the debate had not been fair (it was held on Passover, when many Jewish members were likely to be unable to attend), and that the boycott itself was inherently antisemitic. [1], [2].
...because I don't believe that this article (Sue Blackwell) is the place for it. By all means move it to the main article on Academic boycotts of Israel, which is already linked to from this section, but Sue Blackwell did not decide to hold the vote over passover, Sue Blackwell did not call the meeting short, and the references to anti-semitism concern the boycott generally, or anti-semitism in British culture... not Sue Blackwell. By all means, move them to another page, but they don't belong here. Famousdog 14:02, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
- I agree. It's all true, but not for this article. BobFromBrockley 15:13, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
