Sudden antenatal death syndrome

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sudden antenatal death syndrome or SADS, is a term used to describe the sudden death of a fetus when the cause cannot be explained.[1] There are approximately 30,000 cases each year in the United States. [1] A fetus which has died may be stillborn, or may be removed from its mother's body surgically. A similar syndrome is Sudden Infant Death Syndrome or SIDS, which is a term used to describe the sudden, unexplained death of a healthy infant.[1]
