Hi my name is Stu West. I've been an editor on the English Wikipedia since 2003 and logged in since 2007. My edits reflect habits from university, when I studied history and edited an international affairs magazine: I'm zealous about sources and strive for consistent, precise prose.

I'm 38 and live with my wife and daughter in the San Francisco Bay Area, where I am an inconsistent guitar student.

Over the years I've done a variety of things for work, from being an Emergency Medical Technician to serving at the U.S. delegation to the United Nations to banking to being a public-company Chief Financial Officer. I feel most at home where I've ended up, on the business side of Silicon Valley working at small fun organizations on things that really excite me.

I was born in the U.S. to an English father and an American mother and am a citizen of both countries. I love travel and have visited, and made friends in, over 50 countries in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
