Hey, this article only deals with physical stuff. According to Descartes, there are two kinds of stuff - res cogitans and res extensa. Res extensa is roughly speaking what the article talks about. What about thinking stuff?
Around about the time of Descartes, or shortly after, there was a lot of talk about whether there could be space without stuff (res extensa). Stuff without space on the other hand appears to be nonsensical. What is the current thinking of physicists on this issue?

- Matter is currently made up of seemlingly small points immersed in large distances of stuffless space. I would rather get into the origins of the word "stuff". Has anyone tackled that mystery? 68.106.248.211 04:15, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
'Stuff' is also a verb. 'Get stuffed' is an insult in the UK.

[edit] common language of the word stuff (stuffed)
someone deleted my section about modern language which included phrases such as "Get stuffed" (insult), "It's stuffed" (broken/not working etc) and "I'm stuffed" (tired). is this appropriate for the 'Stuff' article as 'stuffed' is a derivative? is it nessesary at all or should it be put in another article? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Cdjm92 (talk • contribs).
