Sturno is a town and comune in the province of Avellino, in the Campania region of southern Italy.

The town is bordered by Carife, Castel Baronia, Flumeri, Frigento and Rocca San Felice.

Sturno has been inhabited at least from the time of the Greeks in 800 BC and later became part of the Roman Empire.[citation needed]
The DeRienzo family are local aristocrats. Most have emigrated to the United States, but the remaining family members still maintain a vast amount of land and power in Sturno.[citation needed]

The surrounding area is farmland under intense cultivation. The local farms are also known for breeding sheep and goats.
