Studs (game show)

Studs was an American television game show which was produced By Fox Television Studios. It ran in syndication from 1991 to 1993, hosted by Mark DeCarlo. In general, the show follows a somewhat similar format to that of The Dating Game and Love Connection. Although the show earned high ratings among young viewers and was fairly popular during the early 90s, the then-spouse of Fox studio head Rupert Murdoch was not a fan of the series and in fact protested her husband's decision to air the game show.[citation needed]
A notable contestant was Ronald Goldman, who was a contestant in 1992, two years before his infamous murder (along with Nicole Brown Simpson) in 1994 for which O.J. Simpson was found liable for.
Jim Perry, who hosted Sale of the Century appeared in a cameo during a 1991 episode. Host DeCarlo was a contestant on Sale in 1985 and DeCarlo thanked Perry for helping launch his TV career.
Actor/comedian Chris Hardwick was "discovered" by a producer when he made a hilarious appearance as a contestant on the show.
