[edit] Background Information
Dr. Stuart Siddell is currently researching coronaviruses, specifically SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome). His work and studies are leading him towards a possible cure of this often deadly disease.
[edit] Accomplishments
Before Dr. Siddell's work with coronaviruses, the genetic material in coronaviruses had to be cloned by bacteria, which was unstable. Now they have a better system so they can study the viruses in more detail.
[edit] Quote
"SARS is a prime example of why we have to invest in basic research"--Dr. Stuart Siddell
"I really do love murine hepatitis virus"--Dr. Stuart Siddell
