Stuart Nelson (born September 17, 1981 in Stroud, Gloucestershire), is a professional football goalkeeper currently unattached after leaving Leyton Orient on May 9, 2008.

Nelson joined Brentford from Unibond Premier League side Hucknall Town in February 2004 for a fee of £10,000. The former Cirencester Town goalkeeper completed his first full season with the Bees in 2004-05, maintaining 21 clean sheets and helping the team into the promotion play-offs.

Nelson was appointed club captain for the 2006-07 season. However, a ligament injury picked up in October meant that he was unable to play again until 2007.^[1] He returned and played 6 games towards the end of the season.

He was released by Brentford on May 16, 2007.^[2] He signed for Leyton Orient in summer 2007.^[3], after an indifferent spell, showing spells of brilliant saving against Cardiff City and making crucial goalkeeping errors, most notably against Nottingham Forest letting in a weak shot from Junior Agogo. He left Leyton Orient F.C. on May 9th 2008 by mutual consent due to relocating issues.
