Jesus cried out as He hung upon the cross

Lost, and tossed about and all distressed

“Forgive them for they know not what they do.”

Well, we’re not Jesus nor his God that he addressed

Forgiveness implies two conditions

Errors and judgment rooted in traditions

But only oneself has all the facts to determine

Whether a course was wrong or an inevitable conclusion.

The best that we as mortals can do

Is forgive ourselves and accept the rest.
