[edit] About Str8ShootR

Str8ShootR is the Wikipedia community member who created the Orlando Ochoada entry in May 2006. This entry has since been deleted by Wikipedia editors, in spite of objective presentation in accordance with Wikipedia policy and citation of numerous public sources. In April 2007 Str8ShootR began using anti-depressants due to distress over the entry's deletion, followed by electro-shock therapy in May 2007.

[edit] Controversy in 2008

After a full year of rehab, Str8ShootR re-entered the Wikipedia community in May 2008. Unfortunately, the comeback was to be short-lived. In a cruel twist of fate, Str8ShootR was shot down by Allstarecho, an aggressive Wiki admin with over 24,000 edits to his credit. At issue was a Bill Moyers entry that was slanted heavily to the left wing perspective. When Str8ShootR offered mild correction the biased Moyers tribute by removing dialog representing the ideology of the editor (no substantive changes were made), the corrections were almost immediately squashed by Allstarecho in two warnings within a five-minute span.

The first warning:

Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. One of the core policies of Wikipedia is that articles should always be written from a neutral point of view. A contribution you made to Bill Moyers appears to carry a non-neutral point of view, and your edit may have been changed or reverted to correct the problem. Please remember to observe our core policies. Thank you. - ✰ALLST☆R✰ echo 05:55, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

The second warning:

Please stop. If you continue to violate Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy by adding commentary and your personal analysis into articles, as you did to Bill Moyers, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. - ✰ALLST☆R✰ echo 06:00, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

Str8ShootR's response, which may well echo the opinion of what few free-thinkers remain on Wikipedia follows:

NEUTRAL POINT OF VIEW

Per your message, I was not changing the substance of the post but merely trying to bring the Bill Moyers article a bit further in check with Wikipedia's "neutral point of view" policy, as it is clearly written from a Moyers-apologist perspective. I was unaware that your point of view was the baseline for neutral. I will cease and desist from any future attempts at accuracy, bringing me well within the bounds of Wikipedia standards.

As Wikirule #141 states: Conservatives “claim” and “allege”; Liberals “argue” and “prove”. (Karl Rove paid me to write that.)

Str8ShootR's comments were never addressed by ✰ALLST☆R✰ echo, though ✰ALLST☆R✰ echo did remove them from his public "talk" page which ostensibly welcomed questions and comments. (Although Str8ShootR's comments were expunged, several profane sexual references - apparently intending to be humorous - remained.)

[edit] Unexpected Resolution

On May 31, 2008 - two days after exercising authority over Str8ShootR, ✰ALLST☆R✰ echo announced his resignation from Wikipedia with the following message:

"THIS USER HAS RETIRED FROM WIKIPEDIA AND RESERVES THE RIGHT TO EDIT ANONYMOUSLY* IN THE FUTURE *Because you can do what you want when you're an IP apparently."
