I haven't looked at what CF eventually did on the accompanying main-namespace page, but just for the record geological stress does not exist, and the answer is "No, neither of those possibilities you mention."

None of these are what someone looking at Stress should expect, even tho the list may be useful to editors adding useful lks to articles on the pages they should expect.

• Tensile stress
• Compressive stress
• Shear stress
  • Extensional stress term for normal stress in rheology
  • Longitudinal stress term for normal stress in acoustics
  • Flexural strength
