[edit] Suggested merger with stream capture

Of the two terms, river capture and Stream capture, the latter, stream capture, is the more common usage in geology. So if there is to be a merger, I would suggest merging "river capture" into "stream capture" rather than the other way around. Cheers Geologyguy 15:20, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

Only being the most amateur of geomorphologists, I'm not in a position to judge, but in my experience I've only heard the term as "river capture"... Is this more a British usage perhaps?--Richard New Forest 17:12, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
That could be. I don't feel strongly about it, given the capability of redirects. But I do agree that they should not stay separate articles, as they represent the same thing. Cheers Geologyguy 18:43, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

I have incorporated the text of Stream capture into River capture (with various other edits), then deleted the text of Stream capture in its original place, and requested a move of the revised text back to the latter. (I think I've done this right...)--Richard New Forest 18:29, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

Hello, Richard, thanks for doing this. The only suggestion I have is, rather than request deletion of Stream capture, to just redirect it to the River capture page. That way those who input "Stream capture" in the search box will be taken to "River capture" rather than to a "no page exists" page. cheers Geologyguy 18:34, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
