String Quartet No. 4 (Beethoven)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Ludwig van Beethoven's String Quartet No. 4 in C minor was published in 1801 as opus 18, no. 4, and was written between 1798 and 1800. It consists of four movements:
- Allegro ma non tanto
- Andante scherzoso quasi Allegretto
- Menuetto: Allegretto
- Allegro - Prestissimo
As noted in the program notes of the Hyperion recording and elsewhere, it is thought that this quartet may be in part based upon earlier material [1]. .
