Strikeouts for Troops
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Strikeouts for Troops is a project started by Barry Zito to help wounded solders that are being treated at military hospitals.[1] Each participating pitcher donates a certain amount of money depending on how many strikeouts they record in each season. After visiting a military hospital, Zito decided to help military families by starting the project.[1] Strikeouts for Troops works with other organizations such as the Freedom Alliance.[2]
