[edit] The company history

StreamUnlimited got its roots in the US-company ReQuest Multimedia, who developed the world's first MP3 hard disc jukebox. In 2000, Philips CE hired the core team of ReQuest and merged them with the research and development team in Vienna to start the Streamium product line.

The first module was for streaming audio files which played music either over the internet or in the internal network. This module was used first in the device MC-i200, the world's first compact stereo set with multiple Audio services and PC-Link functionalities.

In the meantime the next extension project was already planned. A streaming platform that also streams video and picture files from the Internet or from the PC. This Audio/Video streaming module was the first of its generation in consumer electronics and was used in the products SL300i, SL400i and MX6000i.
