This image is of a book cover, and the copyright for it is most likely owned either by the artist who created the cover or the publisher of the book. It is believed that the use of low-resolution images of book covers to illustrate an article discussing the book in question on the English-language Wikipedia, hosted on servers in the United States by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation, qualifies as fair use under United States copyright law. 1. This is an image created and uploaded for informational purposes only.
2. The image is an accurate scan and includes all of the art created for the front cover of the first-edition dustjacket
3. This image is of much lower resolution than the original. It cannot be used for high-resolution printing, and any copies made from it will be of inferior quality.
4. Use of this image in the Murder by the Book article adds significantly to the article because it visually identifies the first-edition printing of the novel.
5. The copyright owner's rights to reproduce the image are not limited in any way.
