Purpose of use

Used to show the subjects of the article as they were at the time they began broadcasting for CBS in the early 1930s.

Replaceable?

A photograph of this era would be extremely difficult to find; generally speaking, photographs from the early 1930s showing radio actors using the rare early CBS microphone are quite rare, and this photograph was taken at a time when the team were just coming into national prominence. As such, this photograph is not easily replaceable, if at all.

Other information Musician Wilbur Budd Hulick and former broker-lumberman Frederick Chase Taylor created the characters of Stoopnagle and Budd. It should be noted that this is very clearly a photograph used for publicity purposes for the radio programme.
