I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Gaysploitation, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at Talk:Gaysploitation. Removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, but the article may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria.--Anthony.bradbury 13:44, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
- I have reverted to your last edit, to allow you to make your improvements. I have also, for the moment, removed the prod tag.--Anthony.bradbury 13:58, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Subst
Hi there; I could not help noticing your comment about {{subst}} comments. This system is not designed to hide or conceal anything, and it is to be hoped that any editor communicating with you will sign his name at the bottom of the message, as I have done here (and above). The use of "subst" is essentially an anti-vandal measure. If I were to add a bare temnplate to a page, and the user chose to change it, that template would change on every other user's page where it appeared. By using "subst", any change is limited to the one page where the change occurs. There is, or should be, nothing concealed in wikipedia, and as a bottom line the authorship of any comment is always available on inspection of the page history.
The welcome message which I gather someone (not me) offered you, is meant only as a helful aid to editors who come across wikipedia but are not sure how to navigate within it. It is not a criticism or an attack. Happy wikying.--Anthony.bradbury 13:52, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
- I do take your point, actually. As the welcome message, which can be added to a talk-page with a total of two words, one colon and four curly brackets expands to about three pages when fully open, you can see why we use it. To be fair, when I use these things I normally add a personal message as well. But it is like e-mail or telephone texting, is it not? You cannot convey intonation, which is sometimes all-important. We do try very hard to make new users feel comfortable, and I am sincerely sorry that this has not worked for you.--Anthony.bradbury 14:03, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Voyageur Days
I read your addition to the Mattawa article. How could you write that with a straight face? Since when does this town consider its local talent a main event? All they care about is bringing in big stars to make money! For someone who's all about not sugar coating things you sure did a terrible job! I can't think of a whole lot that voyageur days does to focus on local timber industry and folkore.
