Talk:Stipend

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Regarding the latest edit, STIPEND in Malta is used differently than other countries. It is given to MOST students attending university, not just research assistants etc. Therefore its mention is sure of notability. Maltesedog 12:21, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

What do we want this article to say? At the moment it says nothing and some very odd statements and some random one-off examples have been added. I have removed these because they serve to make the stub even more confusing. This article needs a lorra, lorra work, Cilla --SandyDancer 21:13, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

I know its needs a lot of work, but I mean a stipend in my island has a different sense than what you mean in the States. Its a grant given to students - to all students - not to researchers! Maltesedog 06:59, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

Maltesedog, I am not from the USA! I appreciate that stipend has a particular meaning in respect of universities in Malta - but there are different meanings everywhere. What is this article trying to achieve? The article should be generalised. Inserting one reference to Malta is totally misleading and skews the article IMO --SandyDancer 09:36, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

The article should show all the meanings! Maltesedog 19:40, 5 October 2006 (UTC)

I think this article should be deleted. Wikipedia is not a dictionary. --SandyDancer 15:13, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

Consider proposing it then.. to see the outcome. Maltesedog 15:48, 29 October 2006 (UTC)

Sandydance did u give on the matter? My idea is that stipend is not only given to research assistants in Malta, but also to students therefore this should be included in the article. While I agree on you on other articles etc., I do not agree on you with regards to this article. Maltesedog 21:49, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

The way this page looks right now, it should be transwikied to Wiktionary. 68.192.48.250 14:42, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
