Stillwater

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

  • Stillwater was the name of a 1970s music group.
  • Stillwater (Band-Almost Famous) was also the name of the band that is the focus of Cameron Crowe's 2000 film Almost Famous. The band was reportedly one of Crowe's first assignments as a music journalist. The original Stillwater from the 1970s is considered a one-hit wonder for the song "Mindbender." Their music was relicensed for inclusion in the film, but in the final release, most of the rock songs in the movie (for the fictional Stillwater) were penned by Crowe's wife, Nancy Wilson (of the band Heart).
