Stig Strand

Stig Strand (born August 25, 1956 in Tärnaby) is a Swedish former alpine skier and sports commentator. He has also worked as a political advisor for the Swedish Social Democratic Party.

Although successful, he was during his active years always in the shadow of Ingmar Stenmark. However, in the 1982-83 season, Strand finished equal 1st with Stenmark in the Slalom World Cup.
