[edit] Speedy deletion of Automotive Wheels

A tag has been placed on Automotive Wheels requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later." You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Please do not add copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to Automotive Wheels. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. This article has already been deleted one as a copyright violation, and has now been deleted from your user space as such, and will shortly be deleted from article space again. If you continue to post copyright violations, a block is inevitable Mayalld (talk) 07:16, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

    • No, it wasn't. It is still pretty much a copy from an outside website, and writing a one-paragraph lead or slightly rephrasing some sentences makes no difference. - Mike Rosoft (talk) 09:46, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
  • We went through all this last time the copyvio was added. The user appears not to understand that the article must be written in his own words from the bottom up, and that it isn't sufficient to take somebody elses text, and make some tweaks until it is a bit different. [edit] Automotive Wheels

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Automotive Wheels, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.
