Stephen Hutchinson is a writer/director based in New York. His work spans all forms of film: dramatic, documentary and corporate. Stephen's foray into dramatic film draws from his extensive documentary and photography experience. His dramatic short OVERTIME, a portrait of a troubled businessman, won a King Award and several craft awards at the First Run Film Festival in New York. OVERTIME is the first in a triptych of short films about characters who struggle for balance between their work and personal lives. Stephen is also developing several feature scripts.
Stephen is currently in post-production on his feature documentary, SUBURBAN PIMP: the ascent and fall of a young hustler whose girls fuel his career as a rapper. His short documentaries have won awards and played in film festivals worldwide. As a documentary DP Stephen recently finished shooting on a feature with Academy Award winning director Barbara Kopple and Cabin Creek Films.
As an award winning creative director Stephen has 15 years experience creating corporate communications and directing photography for major international clients such as Goldman Sachs, Sony, NYSE and the BBC.
Born and raised in Newcastle, England, Stephen is a graduate of the prestigious Graduate Film Program at New York University.
