[edit] Introduction
Hello there, my name is Steven, and most people consider me to be very, very "Old School". I listen to music from the 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's, up to the mid 80's. Some of my favorite singers and bands are The Platters, Neil Diamond, Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole, Johnny Mathis, Judy Garland, Perry Como, The Mills Brothers, Anne Murray, and many others. I am well into collecting antiques, I have a collection of coins and pocketwatches from the early 1800's, and various gold pieces from the early times. I also have a computer collection, consisting of Commodores, Ataris, IBM's, and Apples; I have many more. I have a Phonograph Collection too. I really like old things, the newest phone that I use is an analog cordless phone from 1984 that has an antenna about 3 feet tall on the reciever. Now you may think that's interesting. I also have a great interest in Chernobyl. I do not know why I am like this, but I must've inherited these traits from my mother and father, who are a bit older than most parents. My favorite hobbies are to play golf, fly model airplanes, listen to my Records, service my 14 computers, monitor temperatures for my 676 coins, maintain movements for my 27 or so pocketwatches, or just simply hang out with friends. I also like to drive in the country, although it is illegal to drive under the age of 16 without a permit, my father lets me drive all the time. I've never driven an automatic, just a stick-shift; I personally think that Automatics are for sissies...Well, that's enough of an introduction from me, enjoy the rest of my article which will include more information about computers, antiques, watches, opinions, etcetera. Thanks, For Listening.
[edit] An Introduction To My Opinions And My Personality
I consider myself an easy person to get along with, but I also do have a side that does not want to be messed with. Many think that my intellectual age is far more mature than my actual age, because of the maturity of the decisions that I make, and simply things that I do. I am the kind of person that does not like to waste time, wants to get straight to the point, and understand things in ONE sentence, without having to listen to commentary hours on end. I am far more mature than most people my age. And many people consider me to be very "old". For example, most people my age do not collect coins, watches, etcetera, they don't drive, and they don't listen to adult standards in music and other topics. I tend to be very right wing and extremely conservative, but I do not generally agree with what George Bush is doing in Iraq, and his other decisions that are costing our infantrymen's lives for a war that we cannot win. The government states that it is our main objective of occupation in the Middle East to get rid of Bin Laden and his comrades, and bring democracy and freedom to the countries there. But the reality is, the main objective in the Middle East is to get America's hands on more oil, and a takeover of the oil industry there, under the disguise of bringing democracy and defeating out terrorism. But the plan on killing terrorism itself is the United State's secondary objective. Throughout the plan of reaching our goals, we have run into constant problems with animosities between the Sunnis and Shi'ites in the Middle East. Everyday, U.S. Infantrymen's lives are being wasted because of car bombs, terrorist bombs, and other threats from the Sunni and Shi'ite "war" that has nothing to do with our alleged main objective. Throughout looking at our progress and how our infantrymen have been killed, I don't think we belong there, and we are just losing a battle that has too much distraction from our main goals, and a battle which the main objective is hidden from our drastically Stalinist government. The terrorism effect has drastically changed our country's theme. Isn't the United States supposed to be the "land of the free, the home of the brave?" But George W. Bush has used the terrorism effect to bring down our freedom as citizens of a country, and has limited us to our rights to speak out, and protest against this ridiculous war. The Sunnis and Shi'ites have been fighting for thousands of years, and we decided to "in-their-sense" butt in and bother their fighting, costing our infantrymen and other civillians innocent lives. On the other hand, I think it is important to create a strong, firm force against the terrorist network, Alqaeda and others. Alqaeda and their affiliates have been working on a "dark", "secret" network made up of many terrorists and other affairs, including terrorists in Europe, Asia, Africa, and mostly in the Middle East. We shall bring the hammer down on these terrorists, and force countries like Great Britain to deal with the terrorist community that it conceals, whose people may be a wider threat to the rest of the innocent world. But on the other hand, we shall pull out of Iraq as quickly as necessary, as innocent civilians as well as our own infantrymen are being killed for much of no reason anymore. It is important to realize that the War On Terror was completely ideal and appropriate for the time of Osama Bin Laden and his fellows launching planes into the World Trade Center, Pentagon, and etcetera. We had to make a stand on these terrorists, and make sure that we will not be impounded by them anytime more in the future. Although we have made much progress in the War, we haven't really gotten anywhere, except for killing various relevant officials to Alquaeda (not so much the "elite" officials), but we have also arrested Saddam Hussein and had him executed. I believe that this was the most important success so far in the timeline of our war, but it is necessary to have ourselves pulled out of unnecessary danger before further lives are lost. It's a war, not a playground, and the war cannot be won. Thanks, For Listening.
