I'm a former political science professor emeritus at my college in Holton, MI. My teaching years spanned over 4 decades and a year. In my spare time I'm also stimulated by impressionistic art, classical traditional poetry, philosophy, the occasional novel, and of course Western democratic politics.
I don't agree with all of them, but here are some interesting political sayings and mottos I've read and heard over the years:
"The only thing we have to fear is fear itself."
"In our most distant past lies our most modern future."
"time for a change"
"Don’t vote, it only encourages them."
"As long as there are governments, there will always be wars."
"If you can't win, change the rules."
"Today's enemy is tomorrow's friend."
"Let Man take a great Line of Conduct and let him take the Consequences."
“Everyone can do everything, everyone is equal.”
"All politics are local."
"The personal is political."
"Think globally, act locally."
"Free Speech For Me, But Not for Thee!"
"The enemy of my enemy is my friend.”
"Make the past serve the present."
