[edit] History

USNCD signed on April 6, 1987 as WNCD-LP, a low power television station in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The low power transmitter was turned off by 1990, with USNCD broadcasting primarily via cable to the tri-home area where it's studios were located.

[edit] 1996

In 1996, USNCD News' studios were wired for internet access. This was the first step in USNCD's eventual internet-only broadcasting.

[edit] 2007

Eleven years later, USNCD began broadcasting in July 2007 online via Youtube, this was the first time viewers outside the quad-home area (USNCD's broadcast area was expanded in 1998) saw USNCD.

[edit] The Melvin Runecraft Incident

Shortly after beginning internet broadcasting, Melvin Runecraft, a 20-year veteran of USNCD allowed copyrighted images of The Indiana State News Center and Discussion into a broadcast. Melvin was fired immediately after the newscast ended, and was replaced the next day by Kathy Finkelmyre

[edit] 2008

In 2008, USNCD was purchased by competitor PNNS. The two merged to form PNNS/USNCD Television Stations, Inc to manage their collective stations.
