In creating this page, my motivation was to provide a target for the links that already existed in the optical tweezers entry and the JASON entry in wikipedia. A google scholar search of author:"SM Block"[1] reveals that Block has authored eight papers which have been cited more than 100 times, which indicates his influence in the field of single-molecule biophysics is large (for camparison, Bonnie Bassler has the same number of "100+" papers). He is also the current president of the Biophysical Society. OscarP 18:47, 14 January 2006 (UTC)

His influence in the field of biophysics is minimal. Although well cited, biophysics is a very large field and many authors have several papers with 100+ citations. Prof richards 15:59, 16 January 2006 (UTC)

This page was obviously created either by Steve Block or one of his students. Bucetildes 20:18, 23 February 2006 (UTC)
