There should probably be something in here about cultural impact. In the United States, whenever the soap opera format is being parodied, it can almost be guaranteed that a man with an eyepatch will appear, e.g. The Simpsons episode "Pygmoelian," and a recent ESPN commercial. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.12.87.94 (talk) 19:21, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
