The refs as listed are useless, since there are not citations to show which ones are to be used to verify which points. Some links seems to not work. Most are also not independent of the subject, so do not provide the required evidence of WP:notability. Please work on this instead of just removing the tags. Dicklyon 22:09, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

The refrences have been worked on using the MLA citation examples. All links are working. The two main sources are published biographies written by Sterling Elliott's son Harmon.
