[edit] Development activity

Has development for this totally died?

No, Stellarium is in active development. Stellarium.org
Development seems quite active at the present time, they have just done a new release Htaccess 23:32, 6 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Supposedly realistic

Why is it "supposedly realistic" is it realistic or is it not and if not why? Htaccess 23:32, 6 May 2006 (UTC)

I would assume it was a paranoid POV edit. But since I make those all the time too, I'm not going to critique it. 69.171.44.42 23:34, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Company "Stellarium"

There is also a company named Stellarium which is unrelated to the software; they make 3D models of the layout of stars in space. At some point in the future, someone may want to make an article about that company and create a disambiguation page. 68.183.232.33 (talk) 18:02, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

For reference, McLaughlin Planetarium links to the existing Stellarium article, but the link is clearly intended to go to an article about the type of product (i.e. 3D star model) created by Stellarium the company. So perhaps there should even be a third Stellarium article about the generic noun. 68.183.232.33 (talk) 18:09, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Proposed move to Stellarium (computer program)

"Stellarium" is a generic term used to describe devices that show the positions of stars. It is similar to a planetarium, but is not projected; lights are often LED's fixed to a flat surface. This program has used the term as its name, which is fine, but we need an article on the generic concept and this article is sitting in its place. I propose moving it to Stellarium (computer program) or something similar. Maury (talk) 22:47, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
