In July 2006, Stewart announced on SI.com that he'd added his own MySpace page.

In September 2006, Stewart stayed with some Notre Dame students after asking for a place to stay in his Mailbag column. He reportedly received hundreds of offers from students willing to host him for a night while he watched games and worked.

A practicing Jew, Mandel held off from writing his featured SI.com sports blog during and in observance of Yom Kippur when it fell on a game day during the college football season.[1]
