Steven T. Murray

Steven T. Murray (born 7 October 1943, Berkeley, California) is an American translator from Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, and German. He has translated three crime novels and two African novels by the bestselling Swedish writer Henning Mankell, three psychological suspense novels by Karin Alvtegen, and works by many other authors. In 2001 he won the Gold Dagger Award in the UK for his translation of Sidetracked by Henning Mankell.

He was editor-in-chief of Fjord Press from 1981 to 2001 (Berkeley and Seattle), which published mainly Scandinavian fiction in translation. He now lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with his wife Tiina Nunnally.
