Steven Lee Olsen (b. November 25, 1985) is a new up and coming country music singer songwriter from Barrie, Ontario. After starting out playing for family and at local small venues such as pubs and talent nights at local restaurants, Steven Lee attracted the attention of more experienced local country players and behind the scenes people and secured the help of a motivated manager in the autumn of 05. A basic demo was recorded in the winter of this year and submitted for consideration to various songwriting competitions and festivals. This strategy paid off as Steven Lee received an invitation to play at the prestigious Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) new artist showcase in Saint John NB in September 2006. Steven Lee is also a member of NSAI (Nashville Songwriters Association International) and his song "Drivin in love", co written with Stephen Lawrance, was given honourable mention in the 2006 NSAI songwriting competition.
While Steven Lee counts many influences, many compare his sound to Keith Urban and Rascal Flatts due to his signature tenor voice. Steven Lee has just returned from Nashville this summer after being invited to co write some songs with a major entertainment group. He will be relocating to Nashville in the fall to continue to write songs for his upcoming debut CD.
