Steve Potts (born 7 May 1967 in Hartford, Connecticut) is an American-born English former professional football (soccer) player. He played as a defender and is chiefly associated with his time spent at West Ham United.
Potts started his career at West Ham as an apprentice in 1983, making his first appearance against Q.P.R. on 1 January 1985. He played for the club for the next seventeen years, spending much time as captain and amassing a total of 505 appearances, scoring only one goal, in a 7-1 win against Hull City in 1990. His last appearance for the club was in 2001, although he stayed on until 2002.
Potts transferred to Dagenham & Redbridge on 13 September 2002 and played there for a full season before retiring from football.
Potts passed "the Knowledge" in 2007 and now works as a London Black Cab driver.
