[edit] History

Steve Parker is the elder brother of Stuart (played by Blair McDonough) and Ned Parker (Daniel O'Connor). Until the move to Erinsborough, Steve had been living in Sydney with his wife Miranda (Nikki Coghill). The couple have two adoptive children, Riley (Sweeney Young) and Bridget (Eloise Mignon). However, Steve has had ties to Ramsay Street for several years: he grew up in Oakey with Drew Kirk (Dan Paris), Karl and Susan Kennedy's (Alan Fletcher and Jackie Woodburne) late son-in-law. Originally from Queensland, Steve is a vet who specialises in caring for native wildlife. He delights in sharing his work with his animal-loving daughter, whom he is particularly close to, and they regularly enjoy upsetting city slicker Miranda with all the details of a vet's life. Steve is currently also working as a janitor of Erinsborough High with Miranda, to help pay off the recent purchase of Number 26.

[edit] Bridget's Accident

Recently his daughter Bridget Parker was knocked down in what was thought to be a hit and run incident. However Susan Kinski later confessed and Steve swore he would make sure she was punished to the full extent of the law. Later during the course of the trial Bridget remembered falling onto the road and Susan was not sent to prison, but given a suspended sentence.

[edit] Buying 26 Ramsay Street

Recently, Tim Collins decided he wanted to knock down and build flats on 26 Ramsay Street if no one wanted to buy it. At the auction, which also had offers from Carmella Cammeniti and Marco Silvani, Steve outbid Tim with an offer of $600,000. Miranda then got angry and told Steve that if they wanted to continue living in this house then they would have to cut costs, starting with her giving up her job as an event planner.

[edit] Jim Parker

Recently, Ned went on a family holiday with Mickey and Kirsten and unexpectedly brought his and Steve's father Jim Parker (Roger Oakley), who apparently didn't get along with Steve when he was younger and treated him badly. He has said that he came to Erinsborough to clear some things up with Steve and his family, and has been denying all the things that Steve said. Jim also revealed that he is not Steve's biological father.

[edit] Covering for Bridget

During the month of May in 2008, Steve finds himself in the middle of a controversy surrounding Bridget and Chris Knight. During the recent formal, Chris made advances on Bridget, and she ran away, pushing him. Chris is later found by Libby unconscious, and he is taken to hospital. Steve learns that Bridget was the one that pushed Chris, and lies, telling everyone it was him to save his daughter. If Chris does not regain consciousness, someone will be charged. Steve did not want his daughter to take the blame for defending herself, and Steve is charged with the murder of Chris Knight after he dies in hospital.
