Stephen Stageberg is an American distance runner. He is also an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Mary Washington.

- Graduated from South Eugene High School in Oregon.
- Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service degree from Georgetown University in 1969.
- Masters and Ph.D. in Economics from Georgetown University in 1984.

- Member of the Georgetown University Athletics Hall of Fame.
- Winner of the Robert A. Duffey Scholar-Athlete Award at Georgetown in 1969.
- 1968 IC4A Cross Country Individual Champion for Georgetown, in a time of 24:32.4
