Stephen Murphy III

Stephen Joseph Murphy III (born in St. Louis, Missouri, Sept 23, 1962) is the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Michigan and a current nominee to federal judgeship. He was previously nominated by President George W. Bush to join the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, but that nomination was withdrawn on April 15, 2008 at the same time that he was nominated to replace Judge Patrick Duggan, a vacancy on the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan that has sat unfilled since 2000.
