Stephen William Hammond (born February 4, 1962, Southampton) is a Conservative politician in the United Kingdom, and Member of Parliament for Wimbledon, winning the seat in the 2005 election on 5 May 2005 with a 7.2% swing. He unsuccessfully fought the seat in the 2001 general election, having failed to improve on the large drop in popularity experienced by the previous Tory MP. In December 2005, he was appointed Shadow Minister for Transport with special responsibility for rail, buses and London.
Stephen Hammond was elected a councillor for Village ward, Wimbledon in the London Borough of Merton election in 2002 and was deputy leader of the Conservative Group on the Council. He did not stand again at the 2006 elections.
