Stephen Clarke-Willson

Dr. Stephen Clarke-Willson, PhD. is a video game and software expert from the Seattle, Washington area.

After he received a PhD in Computer Science and Software Engineering at the University of California Irvine in 1986, he worked at Northrop Corporation, where he worked on mission planning displays for the B-2 Spirit stealth bomber.

In 1990, he became a producer at Virgin Interactive, eventually becoming Vice-President of Worldwide Product Development. He helped produce titles for the SNES and the Sega Genesis like Disney's Aladdin, Global Gladiators, Cool Spot, and Disney’s Jungle Book; also The Seventh Guest for DOS. (He was also the producer of one of the most ridiculed games of all time, Color a Dinosaur.)

He published a paper, "Applying Game Design to Virtual Environments", at SIGGRAPH.[1]

After leaving in 1994, he was a consultant at Above the Garage Productions. In 1999, he was a programmer at Cavedog Entertainment, where he worked on Total Annihilation.[2]

After programming the DirectSong music store, Dr. Clarke-Willson now works at ArenaNet as a server programmer for Guild Wars.

Dr. Clarke-Willson arranged and performed "The Bare Necessities Rag" title music for Disney’s Jungle Book on Genesis and SNES.[3]

He composed the Adrenium Studio theme which was arranged by Larry Kenton and performed by the musicians of the City of Prague Philharmonic and first heard in the video game Azurik: Rise of Perathia.
