Stephen C. Cavanagh (born May 8, 1984) is an artist from Chicago, Illinois, the United States, who is notable for his attempts to sell his body as a sculpture on the auction website ebay.com as covered in an October 26, 2006 column by Neil Steinberg of the Chicago Sun-Times under the heading "Art for Money's Sake". The initial proposal was for two
'carbon-based sculptures' on eBay, asking price $10,000 and $100,000. The sculpture are -- to shear away the artistic statements about offering himself as a commodity -- offers to loan himself for a period of a month (for 10 grand) or a year (for 100 grand) with reasonable breaks for the toilet, meals and sleep. He will decorate your living room or office lobby.'
