Doctor Stephen Baysted (* January 9, 1969) is a British composer born in London. He is best known for his music composing for the three award winning video games GTR, GT Legends and GTR2.
Baysted who currently lives in Surrey has studied music at Southampton University and Dartington College of Arts from where he gained his doctorate (PhD) for a thesis of Jean-Jacques Rousseau's philosophy of music, aesthetics and reform of opera. Dr. Baysted works as a Sound and Music Director for British entertainment software development company Blimey! Games.
Dr. Baysted is also a Senior Lecturer in music and music technology at the University of Chichester. As Director and founder of Counterpoint Productions Ltd he has successfully composed music for cinema and TV advertisements of companies like Pizza Hut, Budweiser and McDonald's.
