Stephen or Steven (pronounced /ˈstiːvən/) is an English masculine first name, derived through the Latin form Stephanus from the Greek Στέφανος (Stephanos), which means "crown" or "wreath."

Less commonly encountered spellings include Stephan, Stevan, Stieven, Stefan, and Stevon.
