Steinbach's Canastero or Chestnut Canastero (Asthenes steinbachi) is a species of bird in the canastero genus Asthenes in the ovenbird family Furnariidae.
It is endemic to western Argentina. Its natural habitat is steep valleys in subtropical high-altitude shrubland from 650-3000 metres above sea-level.
