[edit] Schooling and Career
[edit] Schooling
Moore attended Hodge Hill Secondary School in the Bromford area of Birmingham. Located on Bromford Road, Hodge Hill was one of the most unsuccessful schools in Birmingham, and was often under inspection for its poor exam results. In 2006, Hodge Hill was named the most improved school in Birmingham. Moore attended Hodge Hill with his brother Luke.
Stefan and Luke also attend the same school as Birchfield athlete Jonathan Moore (please note that they are unrelated).
[edit] Playing Career
[edit] Aston Villa
Moore began his career at Aston Villa, and was captain of the club's 2002 FA Youth Cup winning side. His brother Luke was on that team as well. At that point in his career, Moore was rated by many as a better prospect than Wayne Rooney. Moore scored 2 goals for Aston Villa, and was used more frequently as a substitute than as a choice in the starting eleven.
[edit] Chesterfield
His first league appearance came on October 27, 2001, but as a Chesterfield F.C. player, as he had been loaned out to Chesterfield for seven weeks. This match, against Blackpool F.C. finished 1-0 in Blackpool's favour.
He scored his first goal for the Villa first team on his debut against Charlton.
[edit] Queens Park Rangers
After a spending a season on loan at Port Vale and in QPR reserves, Stefan Moore finally got into the first team against Coventry in April 2007. After a few performances he got to keep his place, despite him reverting to his under-performing self.
However, he stil kept his place in the new season, still delivering below-par performances. This was to change though when Watford played QPR at Loftus Road where Moore came on for the half-fit Gareth Ainsworth. Watford soon scored after the break but Moore scored the equalizer with a high driven shot from the outside the 6-yard box to send the Rangers fans into raptures, as it was the first league goal scored at Loftus Road by Q.P.R in the 2007/2008 season. Since the new regime took over at QPR, he struggled to find a place in the team even more, so on 23rd of January 2008, he parted company with the club by mutual consent. Some would consider this the lowest point of Moores career, who once looked so promising.
[edit] Melbourne Victory
In early February 2008, Moore was linked to Melbourne Victory of the A-League, a club that is set to compete in the Asian Champions League after winning the Australian premiership in 2006-07. Although no decisions about a future with Melbourne Victory have been made, Moore excited fans with 2 goals in a practice match for the 06/07 A-League champions against Victorian Premier League side the Whittlesea Zebras at Epping stadium on February 14, 2008
[edit] Walsall
In February 2008, Stefan returned from Melbourne to sign for Midlands club Walsall. Richard Money considered him as a major signing for the club and he scored on his debut against Luton Town on 1 March 2008. He has noew been released from Walsall
[edit] Injuries and Consequences
A knee injury sustained in January 2004 halted his progress somewhat, and from then on only sporadically appeared for Aston Villa. Between August 3 and October 3 he was signed on loan to Millwall F.C., before finishing the season on loan at Leicester City F.C.
Moore signed for QPR on 14th June 2005 on a free transfer. Strangely, due to a mix-up between the two clubs, Moore was paraded in a QPR shirt on the day before the transfer was actually completed. He commenced a one-month loan spell with Port Vale on 29th August 2006.
After failing to make an impact, Moore was subsequently released from QPR on the 24th January 2008.
