StealthRAD

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

StealthRAD[1]is a family of mobile surveillance radars. These radars are a new-generation of highly mobile Low Probability of Intercept (LPI) surveillance and Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) radars capable of detecting various targets under all weather conditions.

Unlike pulse radars, FMCW technology radars have a low continuous power output which results in superior performance in certain respects. The low transmitted power levels inherently increase reliability and reduce component cost, resulting in a cost-effective solution for short-range radars. The LPI element makes them ideal for covert operations during which the radiation of the radar must be minimised.

They can be typically used in border control operations, monitoring of unattended airfields, marine management, coastal traffic monitoring and the monitoring of activities on inland lakes.

These radars are products of Reutech Radar Systems.[2]
