Description

An 1893-era w:stereoscope probably used at the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition. Taken at the Christopher Columbus museum in w:Columbus, Wisconsin, USA.

A description card next to the device says "This stereopticon 3-D viewer from the WCE is made of cherry wood. By looking through the stereopticon a person can see 3-D images of various scenes, buildings, and images from the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition. It has the capacity to server two people at one time." ... "Next to the stereopticon is a hand-held viewer."
