Talk:Star Ocean: The Last Hope

[edit] A little soon, don't you think?
Nothing has been confirmed about the new game. It hasn't been referred to a Star Ocean 4 by any official sources. None of the previous numbered games have ever used roman numerals. The only reason I'm not pressing to have this article deleted is because there's a chance that it could be Star Ocean 4, though it wouldn't be called "Star Ocean IV" so this page would have to be moved eventually.--Claude 01:10, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
Don't worry, I know that. I'm just using it as a tentative title because that's what the link to Final Fantasy Hybrid calls it. I'm well aware that it will probably have a different name. Choogle 07:31, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
- It's still speculation, which isn't allowed; Final Fantasy Hybrid isn't the authority on Star Ocean. Really, this page shouldn't have been made at all until the game was revealed. All it's really saying is "There's a new game announced, and I THINK it might be Star Ocean 4...?"--Claude 20:41, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
- :I think this might get deleted in accordance to Wikipedia's Crystal Ball policy.SniperWolf1564 03:30, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

- Well, you're a little late. SO4 was indeed confirmed a few weeks back, so this has reason to be here now. It's just that Choogle initially jumped the gun before there was any confirmation of SO4.--Claude 19:18, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
There is a new trailer for the game and it's called Star Ocean 4 so you don't have to delete the page. You are able to see the trailer on youtube.com please go see the trailer for your selves and make your own conclusions. The trailer has been out for a while now, maybe about a month and a half. 10:13 21 January 2008

- It may be called Star Ocean 4. But the new trailer suggests that it is called; Star Ocean: The Last Hope. You can check it on Youtube and Gamersyde.Zeta Nova 10:52, 10 June 2008 (UTC).
- It's called "Star Ocean: The Last Hope" in English and "Star Ocean 4" in Japanese. Check the official site. Kariteh (talk) 17:53, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
- Well, speaking about the english version. The U.S branch of SQUARE ENIX may just drop the "4" and just keep the subtitle. In this case; The Last Hope subtitle as compared to S.O 4.Zeta Nova 10:56, 10 June 2008 (UTC).

[edit] Warning - Platform still unconfirmed
Square Enix nor tri-Ace has yet to officially confirm the platform, all the links are simply jumping the gun because they have no real info to go off of. It's speculation.--Claude 02:10, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
Agreed, however i removed the reference to square-enix not naming a platform during TGS on the grounds that the references were irrelevant [one was a n4g that linked to an archive, the other was a wii article], besides the ps3.ign reference in the preceding sentence makes the same point, theres no need to repeat it. 207.210.21.18 (talk) 20:46, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
The console for this game still has not been confirmed yet and it still says ps3/360. The link stating that it will be on 360 has not been confirmed by Tri-Ace/Square Enix. http://www.tri-ace.co.jp/en/product/index.html Please fix it. Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.10.190.113 (talk) 00:12, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
"Fixing it" doesn't mean listing it as PS3 exclusive again when the tri-Ace site clearly says that the platform is undetermined (未定 - "mitei" or undetermined). The Syoboonline link provided as a source for the article on RPGFAN does not contain any information about SO4, so either Chris Winkler made the story up, or Syoboonline retracted it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Locasteashenwood (talk • contribs) 15:03, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
- It was a hoax from Syoboonline, so it shouldn't require anymore attention.--Claude (talk) 05:12, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
Then why do contributors to the page insist on labeling it a PS3 game when tri-Ace still hasn't announced the platform? Locasteashenwood (talk) 13:29, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
Vandalism by PS3 fanboys isn't appreciated. Is there any way to lock this page until such time as tri-Ace updates the release information for the game? Locasteashenwood (talk) 21:32, 16 December 2007 (UTC)
So, is the platform still undecided? Is any claim for a platform still speculation? I guess if you were to go on what's happened so far, you might lean towards Ps3. The bottom line though is that it's still not official, right? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.191.48.27 (talk) 22:48, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
It's just a save bet to leave the platform as TBA until we here something from Square or Tri-Ace. There is this popular story about the article in a Dengeki magazine, which features Playstation games exclusively, however exclusive Xbox magazines have also had articles related to the game, so neither one can be used to try to provide evidence to the contrary. --98.223.40.250 (talk) 19:12, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
Well, unless you guys missed the new June trailer. It stated that the game will be on 360. Due to the recent official Microsoft Press Conference in Japan.Zeta Nova 10:54, 10 June 2008 (UTC).
Currently 360 exclusive no plans for a PS3 version http://www.xbox360fanboy.com/2008/06/13/square-enix-no-plans-for-star-ocean-on-ps3/ —Preceding unsigned comment added by MattParker 119 (talk • contribs) 21:38, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
