[edit] Trent Valley

The link for Trent Valley takes us to a named section in the West Coast Main Line (WCML) atricle that does not appear to exist now. Should the link now point at the atricle Trent Valley Line or should the WCML article be modified to include the appropriate section again?

It is clear that the Stafford Station article is in need of rewriting.
I was not aware until today that a four line stub article had been written for the Trent Valley Line. The Trent Valley line is a section of the West Coast Main Line (and has been for over 150 years) with almost all the trough traffic between Rugby and Stafford and by common consent the line through Birmingham with little through traffic is the heavily used West Midlands branch. I do not see any need for a Trent Valley article. That part of the through route is in any case far far better covered in the West Coast Main Line article. Next thing we shall find ourselves with separate articles for the London to Bletchley line and the Bletchley to Rugby branch or the Stafford to Crewe branch or the Crewe to Preston branch or the Preston to Carlisle line or even the Carlisle to Carstairs Junction branch. I was just picking up on one of the orphaned articles to add some links to it. If the stub need to be merged into the WCML article then that may be what should happen. It appears though that the WCML article is being split out into separate articles e.g. Rugby-Birmingham-Stafford Line which came from there.
