[edit] History

Staybridge Suites entered the lower upscale extended-stay market in December 1998 when its flagship location in Alpharetta, Georgia, opened. Most Staybridge Suites are built as new from the ground up; however, 14 of the 101 Staybridge Suites hotels are former Summerfield Suites hotels (by Hyatt). There are more than 100 Staybridge Suites hotels open in the United States, Canada, Mexico and Latin America. It competes with Residence Inn, Homewood Suites, and Hawthorn Suites.
