Statilia apicalis is a species of mantis native to Australia.

This species is brown, male long winged, female unidentified, dark chrome green blotch on the forearm ending in a yellow stripe at the end of the blotch. Under neath the thorax is a red shade, lighter red to dark red but not finishing at the end of the thorax.

Statilia apicalis when hungry this species will try to escape but when raised from nymph in captivity will be more tame.

Captive adults from nymphs are completely tame and will not try to escape but when adult, feeding regulary is needed to maintain escape.
